Wild Heart Gallery
May 2, 2017 was the Wild Heart Gallery opening night gala for Vicissitudes, the first solo exhibition for conceptual, multimedia artist and second year Southwestern College Art Therapy/Counseling student, Jessica Morris. The evening was filled with lively conversation, delicious refreshments, and music provided by SWC’s own, Larry Harkcom.
You can check out this Wild Heart Gallery show through the third week of May. Below you will find the artist’s bio and statement for the exhibit.
Bio
Jessica Morris is conceptual, multimedia artist hailing from San Antonio, TX; currently studying in Santa Fe, NM. She lives with her fella, a brood of animals, and a ton of books.
Statement
In the state of vicissitudes, there’s the potential for chaos. I try my hand at integration, by reflecting upon these varying changes in a lifespan.
The creative process is fueled by and reciprocally feeds the inspired soul. This energetic exchange nourishes and frames the world for an artist. Concretizing it in sculpture, a visual timeline forms, giving voice to events, aspects of self, and those who have forever changed an individual through their presence or absence in this world.
