The new transdisciplinary PhD in Visionary Practice & Regenerative Leadership at Southwestern College in Santa Fe features a unique approach. This low residency doctoral degree is designed to support adult learners who seek to make a difference. The world needs visionaries. We are seeking students who will bring their potential, their creative, original ideas, their desires, hopes and dreams. Faculty will serve as mentors, guides, and facilitators in a community of transformational learners. Together we will seek to nurture intellectual and social-emotional development in a holistic program that provides learning opportunities and skill-building strategies to enable each to bring forth their unique gifts.
Doctoral students may enter this program from any area of study, any profession or career. The purpose is to enrich and enhance the ability to serve as a change-maker in a chosen field, endeavor, or community. Through learning visionary practices and applying the principles of regenerative leaders, students will recognize inherent strengths and amplify them to regenerate possibility and potentiality to promote creative solutions to the challenges in our lives and communities. Leadership capacity emerges from a desire for authentic partnership rooted in greater self- knowledge and self-awareness.
Students in our applied doctoral program will form new professional networks. They will advance through a program designed to support transformational processes of advanced learning. Graduates will be uniquely prepared to situate their contributions. They will graduate with a clear plan on how to implement their ideas based on emerging strategies, relationships, and resources.
The Ph.D. in Visionary Practice and Regenerative Leadership furthers the mission of Southwestern College, “Transforming Consciousness through Education.” In the words of core faculty Pramod Parajuli, “Diagnose the problem. Dream your wildest Dream. Now Design and Deliver it.”
We believe in the power each one carries within to contribute to the collective. We believe the seeds of change are carried in consciousness and can be expressed with the support and recognition of others.
