Tiernee has a BA in Fine Arts, an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science and a Master of Science in Art Therapy with a Counseling emphasis from Mount Mary University in Wisconsin. Both art and science have always been a key source of interest and joy for Tiernee and when first discovering art therapy, found both interests could finally sit at the same table together. She continues to explore the intersection of art and science researching nature-based attachment through both quantitative and art-based measures.
Tiernee received her training and completed her supervision years at the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center, an All Nations community health center which provides medical, behavioral, spiritual, and prevention services to the Urban Native American community of Milwaukee, WI. She also has experience working in a luxury, residential addiction recovery facility as well as a community outpatient clinic serving all ages. Currently, Tiernee owns and operates a private practice providing individual and couples therapy, as well as art therapy supervision and community art groups. In addition, she provides individual and classroom services at a local elementary school in an outdoor setting.
