Janelle L. Bohannon graduated from Southwestern College with a Master’s degree in Counseling in 2019. She currently serves as the Outreach Services Program Manager and therapist at The Life Link and is a contract therapist at New Vistas. Prior to that she was a Behavioral Management Specialist at PMS. To complete her graduate study, she worked as an intern at The Life Link, serving the homeless and individuals suffering with severe mental illness and substance abuse. She joined the Southwestern College Board of Trustees in August 2020.
Born and raised in Santa Fe, she graduated from Santa Fe High School in 2010, attended the University of New Mexico and graduated in 2015. Janelle’s desire to serve the community stems from watching family members and friends struggle with addiction and living in poverty. She vowed to give back to the community she loves, to serve the most vulnerable population in her hometown and try to bring awareness to mental health in a community that overlooks it. She is also a mother of two beautiful boys and spends all her free time making memories with them. As a Hispanic female, she takes pride in her upbringing and culture.
