Dr. Barbara Reider, Ph.D

Dr. Barbara Reider, Ph.D., was Chairperson for the Education Department at The College of Santa Fe from 1991 to June 2001. She attained the rank of full Professor and was granted the rank of Professor Emeritus upon leaving. In this capacity she oversaw all departmental functions as well as supervising both full and part-time faculty. She was responsible for the development and implementation of the Master of Arts in Education with a focus on at-risk youth. This program served graduate students on the Santa Fe campus as well as students at off-site locations. In addition to her faculty and administrative responsibilities, Barbara, working together with her faculty, created an elementary school education collaborative with the Santa Fe Public School System. This model incorporated multiple intelligences, integrated curriculum and a focus on multi-level classrooms serving a diverse group of students.

Barbara was also instrumental in working with the New Mexico Suicide Intervention Project (NMSIP) to develop a training program for school and community counselors, which also provided direct counseling for families with children at risk.

Barbara has also been a member of the adjunct faculty for The College of Santa Fe, University of New Mexico, Santa Fe Community College, University of Phoenix, Temple University, Beaver College, and Montgomery County Community College. She has also been an Assistant Professor at Temple University School of Social Administration and a member of the field faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work, Goddard College, and clinical instructor at Hahnemann Medical University Department of Mental Health Sciences.
