Chelsea Call is a queer artist, art therapist, somatic practitioner, and climate justice activist who approaches therapy from an unconventional, systems-oriented, and integrative framework. She holds a Masters in Art Therapy and Counseling from Southwestern College, graduating in 2018. Chelsea has worked as an adjunct faculty instructor at Sofia University. Chelsea’s clinical approach incorporates modalities from a variety of frameworks, such as art therapy, IFS, EMDR narrative therapy, feminist theory, queer theory, existentialism, mindfulness, somatic-based therapies, depth psychology, and liberation psychology. Her clinical focus has been with adolescents, LGBTQIA+ folks, and trauma survivors. She teaches from an anti-oppressive, liberation-based framework. A primary focus of her teaching is to assist students in developing a greater understanding of their own multiple, intersecting identities and the ways this impacts one’s mental health. She intends to support my students in a deeply reflective process of understanding the impacts of historical traumas and current socio-cultural environments. Chelsea is committed to engendering transformation and liberation in a classroom setting.
