- Awbrey Willett MA, LMHC, Developmental Specialist (3)
hello I’m Awbrey Willett and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Developmental Specialist (level 3) who has been working in the wellness field in Santa Fe and Northern NM for over a decade. Currently I’m in private practice as a psychotherapist and manage Pinon Counseling Community- a collective of counselors dedicated to creating a culture of care for each other while being of service. I can be reached at awbreywillett@southwestern.edu or by phone or text 407-4590939. I use an attachment-based lens as a counselor believing that relationships are the foundation of wellness. My long history of working with families, parents, and children as a birth doula, teacher, and program manager for teen mothers, as well as a Developmental Specialist, has prepared me to teach Altruism and I am excited to be returning to Southwestern, my alma mater, now as a facilitator. I believe in offering “what works” so I also explore solution focused, developmentally appropriate strategies and interventions, and mindfully explore life’s existential questions from a more mystical and spiritual perspective. Additionally, I trained with the Sky Center and received my undergraduate degree in Social Justice Education (a combination of peace studies, women’s studies, and philosophy courses) from Oregon State University. I use a systems approach moving between individual, couples, and family work as is useful. I especially enjoy supporting families, couples, and individuals, and now students, in integrating wellness strategies into their daily routines. It unendingly supports my own growth to help others further their self-care, self-love, and spiritual development so that they can remain in joyful, sustainable service to self and others and so can I.
