Lead-in
Students new to Southwestern College in the fall of 2016 were invited to introduce themselves through their art and other creative processes. It is the Wild Heart Gallery‘s honor to feature a few of the contributing artists of the Lead-in exhibition.

My art has always been intuitive. It is a meditative process where I leave myself open to whatever comes from my heart or Spirit. I will have an idea to start with but as I interact with the materials – be it clay, paint, paper, or a mixture of mediums – the piece will take on a life of its own and evolve. I love texture and color. Whether the color is intense or more muted it is always important. The visual or physical texture of a piece is also important to the finished work. While I enjoy doing abstract work, my work frequently has animals as the subject. Currently, you will see a lot of horse images for their power, endurance, and loyalty speak to me of many things.
