The Quimby Memorial Library is here to support the research needs of our students at Southwestern College. Below you will find a list of online databases, peer-reviewed open access journals, and scholarly based search engines that may be utilized any time –24/7– away from the campus. In addition to these services, we also offer ‘in-house’ databases The American Art Therapy Association and The American Psychological Association, which are accessible in the library.

American Psychological Association (APA) Databases (ON CAMPUS ACCESS ONLY)
APA’s database aggregation includes PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, and PsycBOOKS, among other databases, collecting the most up-to-date information in the Psychology field, in one easily searchable place. Ask Quimby staff for assistance in accessing APA databases in the library.

Newsbank is an online, searchable database providing access to three New Mexico newspapers. Each paper provides unique coverage of local and regional news, including companies, politics, sports, industries, cultural activities, and people in the community. Paid ads are excluded.
InfoTrac Newsstand is an innovative Web-based full-text newspaper database which allows users to search articles instantly by title, headline, date, newspaper section or other assigned fields. Finally, a one-stop source for the day’s news and searchable archives. You can customize your online newspaper database features including search options. With InfoTrac Newsstand, you can search a collection of more than 1,000 newspapers, then select your own screen appearance, search options and results format.
Access to both Newsbank and InfoTrac Newsstand (as well as above descriptions of the same) is provided by the New Mexico State Library. Both databases must be accessed by clicking the above links. Access is restricted to computers emanating from a New Mexico IP address (links will not work in other states).
