Albuquerque Winter 2023 Events and Activities by Tya Bussell

Albuquerque is 64 miles Southwest of Santa Fe and has many fun things to check out this holiday season! Take the Rail Runner or drive down i25 and explore the Duke City.

• Go to Big Jim’s Winter of Enchantment event at the southeast corner of Coors and Montaño near Sprouts and Bosque School: 4140 Montaño Road NW Albuquerque, New Mexico
• November 24^th until December 31^st
• Hours: Monday-Thursday 10 am-6pm and Friday-Sunday 10 am-8pm
• There will be live music, dance performances, food trucks, sleigh hayrides, luminarias, photo stations, farm animal nativity, vendors, cowboy Santa, Christmas trees, kid activities and more!
• Entry is $10 for 12+ yrs., 3-12 yrs. is $7, and 0-3 is free.
• For an additional charge, book a tamale making workshop, an herbalist workshop, or 4 course farm dinner.
• Come see me (an SWC student) perform with my dance team, the Duke City Dynamites, perform our Christmas routine at noon on November 26^th, December 3^rd, and December 17^th! Entry to view our performance is free!
• Go to the Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival Holiday Show at Expo New Mexico November 24-26^th!
• See the New Mexico Artisan Market at Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town on November 24-26^th as well
• Check out the 28^th Annual Nob Hill Shop and Stroll @ Nob Hill Main Street on December 7^th
• See a New Mexico University Lobo Basketball game at the Dreamstyle Arena

  • December 6^th Lobo Men’s vs Santa Barbara
  • December 29^th Lobo Men’s vs Eastern NM
• See the Nutcracker Ballet at the Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center on December 12^th 7 pm-9pm, $24-64
• Enjoy the Christmas Mariachi Festival at Popejoy Hall on December 15^th 7:30 pm-9:30 pm, $82 +
• See New Mexico’s BioPark Society’s 26^th Annual River of Lights November 25-December 30 (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), 2023 5 pm-10 pm @ ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden, Tickets $12-17, 2 yrs. and under free
