Pam Rice, MHR, ATR, LPC received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Tulsa in 1995. After working as a graphic designer for 10 years, she attended The University of Oklahoma, studying Art Therapy and graduating with a Masters in Human Relations (2005) and Counseling (2008).
Pam started her counseling career working with kids in schools in community mental health agencies. She then went to a residential treatment center, working with adolescents on the autism spectrum. After six years, she started a private practice that has been going strong for over a decade. The shift to working with the general population meant delving into some of the most common mental health challenges we face as humans, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. The prevalence of trauma she saw in her clients inspired her to train in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), an effective tool to help people reprocess trauma and come to peace with their past. Alongside her private practice, she completed a 2 year mindfulness meditation teacher training with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield in January, 2023.
Pam, husband, and dog Teddy live in Tulsa, OK along with 3 adult children who live nearby. They love spending several weeks a year in New Mexico where they reconnect to themselves and nature. Pam co-facilitates retreats there and enjoys bringing groups together to share her love of the healing forces of nature, art and meditation.
Pam has known the healing powers of creating for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she took art classes in painting and drawing. More recently she’s learned how to make jewelry with metalsmithing and metal clay. She has also dabbled in pastel painting and botanical drawing. Other activities she enjoys are pickleball, yoga, taking walks with friends, jigsaw puzzles and reading.
