Rob Belgrod (he/him), LPAT, LCAT, ATR-BC is a Registered and Board-Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Professional Art Therapist in New Mexico, and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in New York. He received a MPS in Art Therapy from the School of Visual Arts and B.S. in Art Therapy from the City University of New York’s Baccalaureate Program for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies. Currently Rob oversees Outpatient Services as the Clinical Services Supervisor at the Santa Fe Community Guidance Center. He is also an active member with the American Art Therapy Association on the Research Committee and Membership Committees. Rob is also working on his GEI Certification through WPATH for Transgender-specific healthcare.
Prior to his current role with Presbyterian Medical Services at the Santa Fe Community Guidance Center, Rob provided Art Therapy to adolescent detainees and detainees in Administrative Isolation at Rikers Island Correctional Facility in New York City. Following his work at Rikers, Rob both supervised graduate students and provided services to clients at The Art Therapy Project.
Rob takes a humanistic/client-centered and trauma-informed approach in facilitating safe spaces for clients to navigate challenges in their lives through the art process. Rob has found the power of art therapy particularly moving in the work he has done with the LGBTQIA+ community, adolescents, and military veterans.
