Bob Dorsett, D.Ed.

Bob Dorsett has been a hospice grief group facilitator, bereavement coordinator, and co-authored a course for training hospice grief group facilitators. He has also been an administrator, counselor, adjunct professor, public speaker, and a public relations liaison for at-risk teenagers and families from multicultural populations. Bob designed “On Location,” a learn-by-doing wilderness, classroom and community-based school, and the “River Classroom” in which high school and college students learned ecology, biology, and history while rafting wild rivers. He has lived off-the-grid in a remote wilderness mountain cabin that he built from the land.

Bob Dorsett earned a Doctorate in Education, specializing in program development, research, and curriculum design; a Master’s Degree with a specialty in group and individual counseling; and State credentials in counseling, social work and teaching. He currently facilitates a no-cost adult grief support group in Santa Fe, New Mexico for Gerard’s House, an organization that supports grieving children, teens and adults. He has written the book for Hospice: “The Grieving Heart: a Simple Guide to Healing from Life’s Many Losses.” He has also written the book, “Journey to a Woman’s Heart: Discovering the Masculine Soul.”
