Natalie Paynter is a psychotherapist currently in private practice in Taos, NM. She contracts part-time as a therapist on the 8th Judicial District Infant Team through Las Cumbres Community Services, as well as providing support for grief programming through Golden Willow Retreat. In private practice Natalie offers services to infants/toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has a history of administration and clinical practice within non-profit agencies working with marginalized populations in both rural and urban settings. Natalie is passionate about the principles of cultural humility and obligation of counselor as social justice advocate.
She believes in the individual embedded within surrounding systems and the resulting impact of social construction on the dominant narratives and identities underlying individual and community health. She has experience serving high-risk populations and believes in promoting access to quality clinical services for the most vulnerable populations in our state. Natalie is currently in training/supervision in the practices of Child-Parent Psychotherapy model and Infant Mental Health. She is in the process of incorporating these theories as well as aspects of psychoanalytic and attachment theories underlying the approaches into her clinical practice.
