Bryce Downey

Having grown up in Kansas and lived in Missouri, Florida, California, Wyoming, and now New Mexico, I could say I’ve done some of the traveling I’d like to do. What really brought me to Southwestern College is the dreams of inner travels: of knowing me so well that when I get to work with others, the fun is in helping them see how awesome it is in their shoes, even in rough times. As a first year student, the joyful work I get to do is discover: more of who I am and who I will become as a professional counselor. What used to scare the bejesus out of me (being a grown-up with a real career) is now exciting, due in large parts to both my attitude and the incredibly supported opportunity presented here by the faculty and staff.
