THE
COSMOLOGY OF THE ANDEAN SHAMAN
Indigenous
medicine people have mastered practical ways to effectively
heal, transform, and envision human potential in harmony
with the natural principles of heaven and earth. Their
heart-centered approach allows them to maintain balance
and wellbeing while empowering and improving people's
lives.
The
Cosmology of the Andean Shaman coursework
and Peru journey offers an opportunity for
personal healing and empowerment. It revolves
around the concept of the Andean "Pachas",
which are Inca maps of consciousness.Through
the classes and a Peru expedition, we will
learn the authentic cosmology of Andean shamanism
including age old techniques for personal healing
and transformation in a safe and supportive
environment.

Andean
shamans understand the true nature of the soul as that
timeless sense of self which lies outside our stories
and our wounding. In this course we not only learn ancient
Andean methods of healing trauma and soul loss, we also
track the journey of the soul from its healed state to
its true destiny, fulfillment, and from there acquire
tools and skills of the visionary. |

Carol Parker
Carol Parker, Ph.D., LPCC is the director of the Transformational Ecopsychology (TEco) Certificate Program. Her profound love of the earth and ceremony led her to train as a vision quest guide with the School of Lost Borders. In addition, she has studied extensively with indigenous healers from the Amazon and the Andes since 1997 and has led groups to sacred sites in the Southwestern United States, Peru and India. She works with individuals and groups as a ceremonial healer and facilitates spiritual pilgrimages. |

Jose
Luis Herrera
Jose Luis' talents and skills are evidenced in
the beauty and heart he brings to his shamanic teachings.
A native of Cusco, Jose Luis was born into the medicine traditions
of the Andes and Amazon. For the past twenty years, he has
extensively traveled and studied the different medicine traditions
of South America, having worked with Peru's most respected
medicine people. Jose Luis is a trained naturalist and mountaineer
and is educated in civil engineering and computer science.
His deep connection with Holy Mountains or Apus has led him
to climb many mountains in Peru and Bolivia, and he is a
foremost expedition leader in Peru. Jose Luis' journey has
allowed him to teach in America and Europe becoming a genuine
bridge with the Western and the Andean cultures and paradigms. |

Journey in Peru

| Join us in a spiritual journey in the high Andes of Peru led by Q'ero
Paqos (shamans) including Jose Luis Herrera. This journey follows
the footsteps of the High Initiation of Mountain Shamans from the
Sacred Valley to the Holy Mountain known as Apu Ausangate. This high
altitude expedition will explore the Rites of Passage and traditions
of the Paqo or shaman. We will partake in traditional ceremonies
of release, purification and initiation. Teachings will occur at
Machu Picchu and other sacred sites. During this journey you will
be at high altitudes, however, you may choose between a lower elevation
journey and a higher elevation trek. The latter trek necessitates
extensive physical preparation to be able to withstand the rigors
of high altitude hiking. |
