“In the Community Education Program we have offered an array of educational and transformational opportunities to the community. It has been a rich and rewarding experience, enabling the college to grow and expand our mission of transformational education. True education engages and awakens all parts of one’s being, allowing for the integration of mind, body and spirit. It cultivates reverence for life and nurtures us in the journey of the soul.”

Classes
Classes are offered through Community Education Programs at reduced tuition for people wishing to receive continuing education units (CEU's). For SWC students and applicants, many of these classes may also be taken for academic credit. When taken for credit, tuition is charged by the quarter unit.

Lectures
Lectures are offered at low cost to the community on topics related to the helping professions.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS in the Community Education Program

Certificate Programs are open to people with an undergraduate or graduate degree. The programs consist of a series of intensive offerings in specific areas with a goal of specialized training.

Much of the coursework in the Certificate Programs is offered in weekend seminars/trainings and may earn 20 CEUs or 2 graduate credits. Participants are not required to apply for a certificate program to take individual seminars.

TRANSFORMATION AND HEALING CONFERENCE
The annual Transformation and Healing Conference provides individuals with the opportunity to experience the many ways available for developing new levels of expression and well being in body, mind and spirit. The conference includes experiential workshops given by local practitioners as well as special events and ceremonies.

The Transformation and Healing Conference is held in August of every year for five to six days. The intention of the conference is to:

  • focus on a theme each year that provides in-depth teachings in a specific area.
  • present a group climate where participants gain a comprehensive picture of what is occurring in the transformation and healing fields and the implications for our community.
  • provide an opportunity for individuals to explore and experience different approaches, selecting those that may be helpful in their own personal transformation and healing; and create an environment for networking between practitioners and the public.

The T & H Conference is offered at a low cost to the community and continuing education units (CEU's) are available for professionals.  A conference description and registration information will be posted online annually in early summer.
