This class describes the range of services available in community settings to assist individuals and groups prior to a traumatic loss and to respond when a loss has occurred. Interventions are studied that address death, trauma, loss, crisis and transition. Bereavement programs for hospice and support groups will be explored.
Janet Schreiber, Ph.D., is the founder and director of SWC’s Grief, Loss and Trauma Certificate Program. She has taught and trained counselors and other health professionals for over 35 years. She directs the Caring Can Be Shared community outreach program, facilitates an ongoing survivors of suicide group.
