Dr. Puryear discovered he has ADD at age 64, and that discovery made a big impact on his life Because of this, he added ADD to his specialties. In this lecture, Doug Puryear will discuss how you can recognize ADD/HD in your adult clients, how it impacts peoples’ lives, and how you can help your clients cope with it. He will offer examples from his own life as well as from his patients and his friends. He will use some material from his two books on using strategies for adult ADD/HD. Participation of attendees will be encouraged as an essential part of this evening.
Douglas A Puryear, MD, has been in psychiatry since 1965, focusing on therapy and teaching, and loved it except for the paper work. He has specialized in long term therapy, emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, and working with borderline patients. He is the author of three books: Helping People in Crisis, Your Life Can Be Better Using Strategies for Adult ADD/ADHD, and Living Daily with Adult ADD or ADHD, 365 Tips o’ the Day.
