Internship EXPERIENCES:
Internship at the Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center

"Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays I work for the Santa Fe Rape Crisis and Trauma Treatment Center, which is in a large, beautiful building, a nonprofit organization whose focus is a community outreach particularly for women and abuse. That also includes a lot of children, however, very different from Headstart, which is psycho- educational, and this is therapeutic. The focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to guide any client through trauma as quickly as possible so that they can gain control of their lives again. It is professionally run and provides excellent continuing education and learning how to work in an agency. The best part is that my week is so varied. Headstart and SFRCC both teach me about the system that is out there. That alone is an education."
