INFPs (and other Types)–Take Care of Yourself Over the Holidays

Realized yesterday that when I or my job or anybody else schedules up too many things, the “felt feeling” is “I no longer own my own life.” I immediately UN-scheduled several things. Christmas season is here, and while there are many great “I” and intimate moments, there can be altogether too many “E” and pointless group guffawings and so on to really make an INFP feel good. Don’t need much of that, thanks. Remember to take care of yourself, and remember the word “No,” Make sure you are driving your own bus during the season…….

Whatever your Myers-Briggs type is, you have your own kinds of needs. So 1) do not expect others to share the exact same needs and preferences YOU happen to have (that includes, maybe ESPECIALLY, partners and family, but also friends and work colleagues), and 2) be clear about your own, and remember that your needs and preferences are YOUR responsibility….

Jim, being a proactive INFP for the Holidays…
