Color Meditation
In our mindfulness session the participants do a color meditation that is an exploration of color energy and how it feels to have one color versus another color in your energy field. It is an interesting experience to run the color rosy pink throughout your energy field and then compare that to running sky blue. Each color has its own unique signature and resonance for the individual. Of course, there are books available that will tell you what each color represents and what you can expect to feel with one color or another…but it is far more worthwhile to try this out prior to reading more about it.
Today, we worked with a wide spectrum of colors and the participants seemed to find that one specific color really resonated with them during the meditation. The colors can be used as a way of flushing out one’s energy field, changing a mood, or more. Of course, one can do a meditation where they bring in a rainbow and have an energetic “rainbow cleanse.” But when one chooses a single color you have the chance to really explore the distinctive character, flavor and resonance of this color. You can get specific information (i.e. when I run this color it calms me down, this color helps me with fatigue, that color is great when I am feeling negative or down…and so on.).
