The SWC president is Jim Nolan. He is originally from Cleveland. I have never met an Ohioan that I did not like. They are so friendly!
Jim fell in love with the southwest from a distance, and now is a member of the New Mexico tribe and all that it brings. Although he has an open door policy, there are quite a few of our students who have not gotten to know Jim. It is their loss. He is introverted and sometimes shy…and surprises you with his wicked sense of irony. Jim is one of those human beings who is endlessly curious about life and ideas. He has this lovely Irish soul that explores and wanders in all kinds of directions! He also challenges the status quo which is rather refreshing.
Recently, he travelled to India and immersed himself in the culture. He has studied Celtic shamanic practices, gone on Vision Quest, and studied the “New Thought” theorists and practitioners. He has this amazing talent with a camera and is a fan of “photo therapy” and what it could offer people. And…this guy can sing! He has picked up a guitar and sang at one of our annual talent show nights and surprised almost everyone in the room with his talent. If you visit us here at SWC I will try and introduce Jim. If you are already here…stop in and say hello to him –he’d enjoy that!
