This program is designed for a wide range of practitioners including therapists, nurses, social workers, physicians, clergy, body workers, hospice volunteers and students in helping professions who must navigate loss and grief in their work and their lives and want to explore, understand and know more about concepts, theories, skills and interventions. It offers the student opportunities for experiential learning including self- reflection, expressive arts, and application of theoretical knowledge and skills.
- Transcripts with proof of B.A. and/or M.A. or consent of the director
- Completed application with $25.00 application fee
- Two reference letters
- An interview with the program director
Current SWC degree students need only submit an application and fee since letters of reference and transcripts have already been processed.
This program is offered in ten 20 hour weekends. The weekends will be designated throughout the year for 200 contact hours. The courses may be taken independently and non-sequentially unless a prerequisite is stated. Students may complete the program for CECs or quarter credits.
Financial aid is only available to students enrolled in a masters program while taking the certificate program classes for their required electives. Students can take a maximum of three classes before applying for admission to the certificate program. After three classes, students must be admitted to the program or sign a waiver stating that classes are not being taken toward a certificate.
