Southwestern College’s goal for 2004-2005 is $100,000 to help run the Southwestern Counseling Center, to provide student scholarships, and to grow the Building Fund for the
new campus.

Your gifts make a difference! Thank you for your support! You can support Southwestern College through The Fund for Southwestern College, which consists of five parts:

The Annual Fund: This allows the College to apply your gift where the College needs it
most. The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of SC’s giving program. SC relies on gifts from alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, friends, foundations and businesses to help cover operating expenses and ensure SC’s financial stability and continued academic excellence. In 2003-
2004, over 200 donors contributed over $100,000 to SC.

Southwestern Counseling Center: This supports the counseling center, benefiting low-income residents in the Santa Fe community.

Scholarship Funds: These increase opportunities for students by applying your gift to financial aid and scholarship. Last year SC was able to donate almost $25,000 in scholarship and gift aid. Your gift for scholarships will help ensure that dedicated students with financial need are able to pursue and complete their education. With a gift of $10,000 or above, payable over a number of years, you can establish a name-endowed scholarship at SC.

Building Fund for the Future: This provides support for the future new campus.

Planned Giving – Create your own legacy
A planned gift can benefit both your heirs and Southwestern College. If you would like to discuss a planned gift, please contact the development office at 505-471-5756, ext.21. All donors considering a planned gift should consult with their attorney and/or tax accountant. Bequests are the simplest and most common way of making a planned gift. You may, at any time, include Southwestern College in your will for a specific amount, percentage of your estate or gift of property. By notifying the College of your bequest, you will join the Ralph Waldo Emerson Legacy Society.

• $10,000 can support the SCC for one month, name a classroom or provide scholarships for up to 8 students.
• $5,000 can support the SCC for 2 weeks, name a faculty office or provide scholarships for up to 4 students.
• $2,500 can support the SCC for 1 week, name a bench on the new campus or provide scholarships for up to 2 students.
• $1,000 can support the SCC for 2 days, name a memorial tree on the new campus or provide a scholarship for a student.
• $500 can support the SCC for 1 day.
• $250 can support 10 counseling sessions for a low-income family.
• $100 can support 5 counseling sessions for a low-income individual or purchase a brick in the new campus courtyard.
