Antonio
Nuñez, Ph.D. is the Academic Dean at Southwestern College.
Dr. Nuñez received his Ph.D. from the California Institute
of Integral Studies in the area of East/West Psychology. He
has also master’s degrees in Psychology from DePauw University
and in Educational Technologies from The George Washington University.
He received his B.A. at Ball State University in the area of
Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology.
Dr. Nuñez comes to Southwestern with an extensive background
in the academic world having being academic dean, executive
director and acting president for the Boulder Graduate School,
and associate professor and program director at the California
Institute of Integral Studies.
His background also includes consulting in the area of organizational
development and transformation in more than 20 countries, and
for several organizations including IBM Corporation and Reynolds
Aluminum, where he has also held management positions, and for
several nonprofit organizations including Naropa University,
where he has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Nuñez has been the executive director of the Together
Foundation for Global Unity, an NGO affiliated to the United
Nations and president of several for-profit corporations. Consulting
from a transpersonal and transformational paradigm, Dr. Nuñez
has been involved in helping organizations of a diverse nature
become more aligned with their mission leading them into higher
levels of performance and growth.
Past board of trustees experience include Naropa University,
California Institute of Integral Studies, Together Foundation
for Global Unity and current involvement as Board Chair of three
Charter Schools in the state of Florida.
He is also the father of three daughters, two of them currently
living in Santa Fe and has been married to his wife Zaida for
almost 40 years.
